Management
Steven Healy, Chairman, President and CEO
Steve has been with LBI since its inception as a Founding Board Member. Recently named CEO, he brings more than 20 years of marketing, sales and management experience in the cardiac device industry to LBI. He has held key executive positions at Schneider Medical and St. Jude Medical, including President of the St. Jude Medical Cardiac Surgery Division. Most recently, Steve was the President and CEO of venture-backed Disc Dynamics, Inc., an implantable spinal device company.
Matthew Ogle, Chief Technical Director
Matt invented the FiberNet technology platform, co-founded Lumen Biomedical, and served as CEO from 2003-2009. In his 15 years of medical device experience, he has filed numerous patents in the areas of embolic protection, drug delivery, medical adhesives and coatings, and other general medical devices. Prior to co-founding LBI, Matt spent several years with St. Jude Medical in the Cardiac Surgery Division, holding advancing roles in technology development and manangement.
Mr. Ogle earned a master's degree in materials science from the University of Minnesota.
Nancy Ness, Chief Financial Officer
Nancy Ness is currently serving as acting CFO for several start-up medical devices companies, majority of her time is spent with Lumen Biomedical, Inc. In January 2006, she joined Anulex as Vice President of Finance after consulting with the Company as a CFO/Controller since Anulex’s inception (2001).
She has more than 23 years of experience in the financial community with the last 12 years specifically in the medical device industry. From 1997 to present, she served as the acting CFO at over twenty start-up medical device companies including Velocimed, LLC., Myocor, Inc., TeraMed, Inc., CVRx, CoAxia, Lumen Biomedical, Inc., Starfire Medical, Inc., and GRAFTcath, Inc.
Nancy received a B.A. in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas and a Certified Public Accountant license in 1984.
Randy LaBounty, Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs
Mr. LaBounty joined Lumen Biomedical in August 2005. He has over 15 years experience working in the medical device industry, including over 12 years in the cardiovascular field.
Mr. LaBounty has served as Director of Clinical Affairs at Atritech, ev3, and IntraTherapeutics. He has extensive experience with Class II and Class III products, and has successfully brought medical devices from the start of animal and human studies through PMA approval.
Mr. LaBounty has a master’s degree in biostatistics from the University of Minnesota.
